Sometimes our week is so hectic, rushing from A to B, even to C… we never take enough time for our health, often snacking on whatever is available. At the end of a hard week, nothing sounds better than a tasty chocolate bar! This super easy, morning smoothie is packed full of goodness: healthy, tasty fruits, seeds and protein… what isn’t to love! It only takes 5 minutes to make but will leave you feeling full for hours.

INGREDIENT NOTES
Chia seeds – these seeds are rich in antioxidants which can reduce the risk of developing severe heart conditions. These seeds also help to lower blood pressure and have a high fibre content. The Omega-3 fatty acids in these seeds can help to delay ageing, reduce acne scars and give you an all-round skin glow!
Hemp seeds – As well as being a great source of magnesium, these seeds contain Linoleic acid, research suggests that these could reduce cholesterol levels by 15%. The anti-inflammatory properties in these seeds have been linked to relieving some symptoms of skin conditions such as eczema as well as supporting cognitive health. Being rich in vitamins A, C, E, and F make these seeds great for strengthening the out layer of the skin so that it can preserve water. However, there is little research on whether these seeds affect women who are pregnant or breastfeeding so we wouldn’t recommend adding these in if this is the case for you.
Cantaloupe – packed with antioxidants such as vitamin C and A, the cantaloupe melon covers 6% if your daily fibre intake and 12% of your recommended potassium intake. One key selling point is that it has a low glycemic acid score (4), meaning your body digests it slowly and doesn’t spike your blood sugar level. Filled with electrolytes, this melon is filled with minerals that balance body fluids, keeping you hydrated and full of energy! Plus, this water-holding fruit is great for helping you stay hydrated, therefore, reducing fine lines and wrinkles.

Mango – another fruit packed with antioxidants, mangos have been suggested to counter the oxidative stress we encounter daily. Research also suggests that it may aid digestion and maintain healthy skin and hair. Being high in antioxidants and phytochemicals means that mangos can help to protect the body from free radicals that damage the skin and increase pre-mature ageing.
